Please take your time reviewing our information about the adventures we offer. We want you to be sure you have chosen the trip that best suits your interests, previous experience and capabilities. Reserving an Adventure: Our maximum group size is 12 people, though the usual number is 6 - 8, insuring both independent time and the opportunity to meet new friends. Once you have decided on your adventure, please complete the booking form and call or fax us with the information or mail your booking form to us.
Reservations for our adventures require a minimum $500.00 deposit per person. Your balance is due in full 60 days before your trip start date. You should consider purchasing our insurance plan, which will safeguard your deposit in the event you must cancel your trip. Please note that if the reason for cancellation falls within the terms of your insurance policy, those charges are normally refunded to you by the insurance company. The cost of insurance is forfeited upon cancellation.
What the price includes (unless otherwise stated): All tents and kitchen equipment, trekking/climbing permit fees, National Park fees, experienced guide(s), Sherpa(s) and porter(s), minimum 3-star hotel accommodation on twin sharing basis (where available), all internal flights and local transport, all meals on treks/climbs, support staff according to group size (and their wages, equipment, insurance, porters, camping gear, and other necessary items for trekking or climbing).
What the price excludes (unless otherwise stated): International airfare to/from home city, cost of visas, personal equipment and insurance, personal expenses (e.g. laundry, soft drinks and bottled water, bar bills, souvenirs, etc.), main meals while in hotels, porter and guide tips, entrance fees to historical sites, airport departure taxes, any loss due to unforeseen circumstance such as flight delays, road blockage due to landslide, etc.
Trekking and Climbing Services: Most of our treks and climbs are fully supported by porters, yaks, mules, camels, horses and/or elephants. We use international tents and local trekking accommodation, such as lodges, huts or gers. All gear is usually transported for you. Climbing services may differ depending on the particular mountain you are climbing and the time of year of your climb. Normally, you will carry only a small day pack containing your personal supplies.
Confirmation & Preparation: We provide loads of useful pre-trip "good things". Upon receipt of your reservation form and $500.00 deposit, we will send you a travel packet containing your confirmation form, travel planning guide and other information including suggested reading, clothing and equipment recommendations and a small surprise!
Clothing & Equipment: Unless already owned, there is no need to buy expensive gear in order to join one of our tours, treks or climbs. We have clothing and equipment for hire at very reasonable rates. We can assist you in obtaining the necessary gear in the most economical way possible. Please let us know!
Passports & Visas: You will need to obtain a visa for travel in the countries where most of our adventures begin, either before or upon arrival. Visas for some countries need to be applied for 2 - 3 months in advance of departure. We will confirm these details with you. We can arrange visa extensions or visas for travel into other countries once you have arrived (e.g., from Nepal to Tibet). A full passport, valid for at least 6 months beyond the return date of your trip, is required.
Getting There: We are happy to help you with your travel arrangements. We will quote (with no obligation, of course) the most economical rates for air fare from a major city closest to you using scheduled airlines, unless otherwise requested. We usually have budget quotes departing from the West Coast (LA) or East Coast (NYC) readily available. Please let us know as soon as possible in order to obtain the best service and price (with more souvenir money for you!). We will require full payment of air fare within 7 days of booking. All rules and regulations of each carrier will apply in all cases.
Travel Insurance: Comprehensive travel insurance is required for all Cabaret Diosa adventures. We strongly recommend that you purchase our comprehensive travel insurance. We have teamed up with Access America to offer you discounted travel insurance especially suited for our adventures. The optional insurance cost is included on each trip description (normally between $150.00 and $200.00). Full details of available coverage will be supplied upon request.
Fitness & General Health: Most of our adventures are suitable for anyone who is in good health and enjoys a certain level of fitness. We strongly believe the better shape you are in prior to your adventure, the better experience you will have. We recommend that you consult with a physician regarding appropriate immunizations and your general health. We are somewhat reluctant to rate our adventures in terms of degree of difficulty due to the variance of factors we might encounter (i.e., altitude, weather conditions, time of year, physical condition, etc.); however, we will make it very clear on our trip descriptions the level of fitness suggested for each adventure. The most important thing is to bring a good attitude.
Cabaret Diosa Treks & Expeditions reserves the right to cancel an adventure for any reason whatsoever prior to departure start date. In the unlikely event that an adventure is canceled, full refund of payments received will release Cabaret Diosa Treks & Expeditions from any liability. Cabaret Diosa Treks & Expeditions is not responsible for any additional expenses incurred by a trip member in relation to the canceled adventure (e.g., nonrefundable airline tickets, visa fees, etc.). You also have the option of choosing an alternative adventure of equal or greater monetary value during the same time period.
Food: All of the food we offer is hygienically prepared to international standards. We use both local and imported ingredients, offering a superb variety of great tastes and nutrition. Insuring that you stay healthy throughout your adventure is our utmost concern. Please advise us of any special dietary requirements you may have; we will do our best to assist you. While on our adventures, look forward to the Cabaret Diosa Surprises! (How did they find that way out here ?????)
Specialty Adventures: We can arrange custom adventures for private groups as well as independent travelers. Group discounts are available. Though limited, single occupancy rooms and tents are sometimes available upon request, keeping the single supplemental cost to a minimum. We will do whatever is possible to assist you with your specific needs.
Mountaineering Expeditions: Cabaret Diosa Treks & Expeditions has organized and provided services for many successful ascents on some the world's highest peaks including Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Manaslu, Shishpangma and Pumori. Our high altitude Sherpas are some of the most experienced in the world. Further information is readily available upon request.
